US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania have welcomed China’s Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan to the White House for a state dinner.
Earlier, Trump said he and Xi had made “tremendous strides on the issues facing our two countries”; Xi, meanwhile, said he hoped “Chinese companies are treated fairly here”.
Some of the most notable names in tech, including Satya Nadella of Microsoft, Apple’s Tim Cook, Sam Altman of OpenAI and Jensen Huang of Nvidia, are dining alongside the world leaders at the White House.
