US military strategy “is based on a flawed premise that it’s still the 20th century,” and this is making the War on Iran “unwinnable,” argues US Army Lt. Col. (ret) Daniel Davis.
Davis tells host Steve Clemons that Iran knew it was “in the crosshairs” ever since it was labeled as part of the “axis of evil” by US leaders 25 years ago. Knowing that it couldn’t defend against US air superiority, Iran spent decades moving its military capabilities underground. And its mountain ranges turn any ground invasion into “literal suicide,” says Davis, even with “a million-plus ground troops.”
