GOP Senator John Curtis is demanding the Senate Judiciary Committee investigate reports that a Russian oligarch helped fund Donald Trump Jr.’s wedding celebration. In a formal letter, the Utah Republican called for a dual review of both the Trump and Biden family business dealings to help restore public trust.
The move has triggered a major Republican rift, with key Judiciary Committee members Thom Tillis and John Cornyn backing the probe. Tillis publicly criticized the president’s son for “colossally bad judgment,” while Cornyn agreed that a formal investigation is entirely appropriate as the party faces looming midterm elections.
